Zero degrees Fahrenheit = really really cold
100 degrees Fahrenheit = really really hot

Zero degrees Celsius = pretty cold
100 degrees Celsius = everybody is dead

0 °C for the freezing point of water and 100 °C for the boiling point of water at 1 atm pressure

I need to know how close the ambient temp in the room is to freezing or boiling water before I cook? What situations does that help with? Can’t say that has ever become an issue for me. “Wait, why am I fainting from heat exhaustion and why is my water bubbling like that? What could it mean??”

F is better than C. It's temperature on a human scale. 100 F and 0 F are more or less the limits of human experience. 50 F is neither warm nor cold. It's pretty great.
But trag called me a chode and that was mean!

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Celsius
-90 would be the world record in temperature on earth (-89.2°C or -128.6°F)
-40 insane
-30 way too cold, wear everything that helps
-20 damn cold but still somewhat normal, face hurts a bit
-10 cold but your face doesn't hurt on a regular day in the city, great for winter sports
0 freezing temperature, knowing this has many uses, and is also great knowing for weather/temperature
10 decent spring/autumn temperature
15 just perfect to live in, great for football (soccer)
20 sunny, feels wonderful after both a period of colder or warmer temperatures
25 nice summer vibes, can go to the beach
30 damn hot
35 too hot
40 sick
50 insane
60 would be the world record in temperature on earth (56.7C or 134F)

Don't see how F can be better than that.

The temperature outside is 100 even sounds silly.

Agreed. I used to be a Celsius guy but as Bart pointed out I'm a human not a glass of water.

30F is 30% hot. 72F is 72% hot. 2F is 2% hot. It makes sense right away. You need to memorize your long list in order to understand Celsius.

That doesn’t make sense at all. -1c is 30% hot? 22c is 72% hot?
Can you make a similar list to what I did, from Antarctics cold to Sahara warm?

Sadly, as this is the movie thread, I cannot.

However, I can share with you my favorite movies about Antarctica and the Sahara Desert

Antarctica: Encounters at the End of the World (Werner Herzog)
Sahara Desert: Fata Morgana (Wener Herzog)
