I’m thinking that’s Saul towards the end of the BB timeline.VinylGuy wrote:yeah, i loved everything about that episode...Gus being confident after his victory, Mike going to Nacho´s dad...and damn that scene was brilliant and heart breaking.
I also believe its been more than a year yeah.

I never would have thought his wealth would be, more or less, legitimate. I assumed he would have a large chunk of Gus money.blueviper wrote:I'm guessing the scenes at his new house means it's a year or so later and the Sandpiper money came in.

Howard’s wife being overly protective of him after his death while she completely iced him out for months before his death is quite the human touch

Gus is gay. When he feels safe, he goes back to live in the regular house instead of the bunker house and he thinks about having sex with that sommelier he seems to be interested in. But he realizes it's too risky. He's safe at the moment, but not that safeBammer wrote:I am stupid so I didn’t get the 45 minute wine bar scene.

That was one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the episode, a rare moment where Gus entertains the notion of being vulnerable to love. But nope. He takes that hard swerve back to the singular purpose that drives his actions all the way up to Breaking Bad: revenge.

I'm gonna wait till this finishes to watch the season again, but it sounds like they treated Kim in the best way for me

Re: TV: Better Call Saul
That sequence represented Gus's "victory lap" celebration for beating the Salamancas. He was savoring his victory while downing that wine just as much as he was enjoying his encounter with the waiter (sommelier?).
That brief moment is all he would allow himself and is meant to show how disciplined he is.

I disagree. We've spent eight plus years with Gus, we already know very well how disciplined he is. If anything, this shows there are chinks in the armor. He is less disciplined than we thought.Ensign9 wrote:That sequence represented Gus's "victory lap" celebration for beating the Salamancas. He had two sips of wine and a brief conversation. That’s gonna bite him in the ass!The Argonaut wrote:I disagree. Yeah I would say "showing how disciplined he is" wasn't the main purpose of this scene. But the way it ends does reinforce how driven he is

That scene was wonderful and a fitting example of what makes this show so incredible.

I see it as her just protecting herself. His image/ position, reflects on hers. Her denial of his possible flaws fit perfect.Mecca wrote:Howard’s wife being overly protective of him after his death while she completely iced him out for months before his death is quite the human touch

This and Breaking Bad makes me question is the money/power worth it?
They are constantly watching their backs. Probably nervous about being in public. Nervous about watching tv at night. Always having issues.
I can't imagine having any time to feel relaxed and safe.
Plus do any of these bodyguards get time off? It seems like day or night they are at the ready. I hope they get OT.
