The last one was atrocious

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of any of his solos up until these 2 (each album did have a cool track here n there).. aside from that double acoustic album he put out

Lazaretto is a classic. I really like Blunderbuss too, and i havent dive into Boarding...that much, but i remember being really exited he was doing that fucking weird album.

but these two are the best yeah.

Blunderbuss is outstanding. Lazaretto is easily the weakest of the solo releases. It's good but it's also pretty middle of the road. BHR is fucking amazing and I'll never stop stanning it. Just a brilliant and underappreciated record. Fear of the Dawn is blistering. I love it.

I'd go:
BHR
Blunderbuss
Fear of the Dawn (this one and Blunderbuss are fairly interchangeable ranking wise)
Lazaretto

Can't wait to finally dive into the new one.

Lazaretto
Fear of the Dawn ( and this one might go on top)
Blunderbuss

Need more time with:

Entering Heaven Alive
Boarding

When I listened to lazaretto n blunderbuss I was like I like a track here n there but they both seemed to be lacking something that he had w the white stripes.. (not Meg) I can't put my finger on exactly what, but they just were huge drop offs

This last one really reminds me of a stripes album n the fear isn't stripes like but it's just cool.. and good wierd at times, as opposed to boarding which was suck wierd

I really like the newest one too. Not quite as much as Fear of the Dawn, but pretty close.

Listening to The Stripes show at Glastonbury in 2005 i think?

Never been a huge fan of them...i prefer Dead Wheather and his solo albums, but they sure knew how to rock hard.

Yes feels like one double album that are opposite one another.

Totally. And I'm glad it was released this way rather than as a double album.

there is a great piece on Consequence were Jack tells he had the idea of releasing a double album but he feels there is just no attention span for a release like that anymore.

Smart dude.

The impact is still there. Everyone knows this is a "double album." It all works but without it being an actual double release. Both "sides" get more attention and thoughtful exploration. It was the right move.

Also he felt people would respond better with this release, if you dont like the electric one, you would be more inclined to get the acoustic one.
