Re: Eddie losing his voice
Not saying this thread is a bad idea, but there are concert threads where it has been (and is) discussed.

Anyone who wrote Cigarette Song #2 was never going to be singing into his 70s.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I would regain so much respect for Ed if he shifted to a more realistic gear and sang songs within his actual current abilities, for aesthetic, health, and longevity purposes. I don't know who he thinks he's foolin'. You can still keep on rockin' in the free world with a chiller vibe. Phoebe Bridgers and Billie Eilish can do it and so can you.

I was a singer in a rock and roll band.
Had command of all my voices.
Now you don’t know how fucked I am.
It all came down to choices.

He was doing exactly this until Avocado.tree_ wrote:I would regain so much respect for Ed if he shifted to a more realistic gear and sang songs within his actual current abilities, for aesthetic, health, and longevity purposes. Re: Eddie losing his voice
Yeah, it's aggravating because he obviously is aware of this because he was doing it like you said up to Avocado, and has done this with a lot of his subsequent solo output.JuanHamm wrote:He was doing exactly this until Avocado.tree_ wrote:I would regain so much respect for Ed if he shifted to a more realistic gear and sang songs within his actual current abilities, for aesthetic, health, and longevity purposes. The high part in the chorus for Quick Escape. I love it on the album and wish it didn't exist when I hear the song live.stip wrote:what on gigaton is excessively out of his range?

As the tour wore on, they tuned several songs down to a lower key: Who Ever Said, Superblood Wolfmoon, Quick Escape, Seven O'Clock, Never Destination, Retrograde.stip wrote:what on gigaton is excessively out of his range?

Re: Eddie losing his voice
The recording is what matters most to me. As long as he can actually do it in the studio when they're recording, I don't care what has to be done in the live setting to compensate.
