Hosmer was supposed to get thrown in with the Soto to Padres deal, just to get that contract off the Pads' books. It looks like he's rejecting the trade (and, honestly, good for him), and the rest is going through without him. Maybe the Pads will still be able to send him to another team by COB

Looks like he's going to the Sox and the Padres will eat most of tbe contract.

Sucks having a first baseman with no power but honestly it's nice getting an actual professional first baseman for free.

I was thinking the same thing, a few years ago I would have been so pissed about this but just having an actual first baseman feels like a dream now.

I’m not sure there’s a more incompetent front office in all of MLB than what the Detroit Tigers have with Al Avila. He even sounds like a halfwit when he talks. Good God. What a bungled trade deadline.

Weather delay. Soaking wet. Will likely be mugged and/or murdered walking back to the parking garage. In the likely event of the latter I hereby give Argo my account.

I just saw the list of 2022 NFL hall of fame inductees … lots of questionable entries … I prefer the more restrictive MLB.
