When Sleeping By Myself came on I thought it was generic Spotify streaming commercial jingle music. It's pretty hideous and has no reason being on a full PJ album. Swallowed Whole has no place here either. It's an Ed solo tune and nothing more.

I was surprised how half-baked the whole thing feels. Infallible, Pendulum and Yellow Moon all show promise but they don't seem finished to me (YM comes closest to sounding done).

LB has no character or coherence. It sounds exactly like an album done in two sessions 18 months apart because well...

I like Getaway and Sirens a lot and I don't hate MYM anymore. The rest is just blah. 5 or 6/10. Weakest PJ album.
Oh, wow. I had quite a different reaction. Trying to temper my immediacy in saying that I feel confident that this album will land in my top three...

I'm really impressed that they are able to pull of this strong of an album 24 years into their career as a band. I'm happy.

No - I haven't heard any of these songs except the singles. Sirens felt weird and a few others. It also slows down too much towards the end. Yellow moon should have been closer to Pendulum.

Future days is much better than Wrigley and the 'demo' - harmonies and organ help. Organs always help. But in perspective is just ahead of Inside Job as worst album closer. I like that they got Bruce Hornsby to close the record out though.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Anyone catch a REM Nightswimming vibe to the piano on Future Days?

Definitely would not miss SBM or Future Days .... LTRP is the most WTF moment for me though.... will need a few thousand more listens to rank the rest.

These are good songs (MYM at a stretch). Thanks PJ for enough to keep me happy. 5 from session 1 and 3 from session 2.
Same but I would switch LB for MYM. Only meh songs for me are LTRP and maybe Future Days.

it's fucking terrible. absolutely no real redeemable qualities. it will suck the life out of any live show, as it did at Wrigley.

Yellow Moon sounds a little like a b-side from the period between Ten and Vs. I mean that in a nice way.

Also - neither of these is the Vine song. So what the hell was the Vine song? Scott Stapp? B-side? Stray Cats 2019?
I think SBM is the Vine song.
I don't hear it...

To think: instead of SBM or FD we could have had Of The Earth :(

I'm just not hearing that in the song - that high harmony at the end isn't anywhere. It's in a different key too.
