Gigaton: Official album thread

It would be cool if they could experiment with the mixing of the 2022 bootlegs to match the soundscapes/open sounds of gigaton.

Or do something live. I'd love to see the concerts colored by the material. The 2006 album really informs the tone of the 2006 tour, and the Avocado songs feel like they fit very well. Gigaton is a unique album (for them at least) and could lead to a unique tour that feels different than previous ones.

I think this might've happened had they toured behind Gigaton as planned back in 2020.

Having pushed the tour back by literally a few years, they've probably moved on from that material a bit.

I was pleasantly reminded that I still really enjoy the album. Quick Escape remains my clear favorite. I absolutely love that song. I had basically forgotten most of Comes Then Goes, which was nice to rediscover. The outro on Retrograde is still cathartic as fuck. Most of the album still sounds great to these ears. I'm still somewhat amazed they made an album this strong after the two duds that preceded it.

yeah, its good, but at the same at first i felt it was kinda close with something from LB. That feeling went away with time and the ending is just great.

I remember Jeff saying that if this song was recorded with Brendan, he would have tried to get that amazing jam space off.

Oh yeah. It very much sounds like it belongs on Lightning Bolt. Very much of those sessions (not saying it was written/recorded/worked on then; just the vibe). But sounds better than the production on that record. For sure.
