I had absolutely no idea this was in the works.

Re: Prey (Predator prequel)
Please just let this franchise rest in peace. There hasn't been a good Predator movie since 1987.

Re: Prey (Predator prequel)
I kind of like the second one better, but hard to argue against the terminator.

The sequel is batshit nuts but also underrated.Revelator wrote:Please just let this franchise rest in peace. There hasn't been a good Predator movie since 1987.
The Predators sequel with Adrien Brody was promising but seems like they ended up going nowhere.

We definitely went over Predator 2 in the Cinematic Motion Picture thread.Ensign9 wrote:The sequel is batshit nuts but also underrated.Revelator wrote:Please just let this franchise rest in peace. There hasn't been a good Predator movie since 1987.

I can sit through/stomach the Danny Glover sequel, but stand by my original statement. The rest are absolute garbage beyond that.Ensign9 wrote:The sequel is batshit nuts but also underrated.Revelator wrote:Please just let this franchise rest in peace. Danny Glover earned their respect. He should have yours, too.

The Shane Black Predator movie is legitimately one of the worst things I have ever watched

Hearing lots of good things about this from those whose opinions I trust. Looking forward to it.

Re: Prey (Predator prequel)
This was fine. Visually, it is often gorgeous to look at. It just isn’t great at any genre. It isn’t particularly scary/tense, the action is serviceable, not memorable, and the supernatural aspect is already well-established. You care more about a dog than any human character. It’s above average straight to dvd fare.

I liked it slightly more than you but that largely sums up my feelings.daft twat wrote:This was fine. Visually, it is often gorgeous to look at. It just isn’t great at any genre. Admittedly this is exactly what I'm expecting out of this one; have a feeling a majority of these rave critic reviews are overblown.daft twat wrote:This was fine. I think the most natural next step is a return to crossovers. Have one of these things dropped off on Endor.
