Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

He also hasn't seen her in years, so it's perfectly reasonable to react a bit differently at this point. He talked to Kim. She said something along the lines of "I needed a clean break, I made a clean break. I've moved on. Please never contact me again." And he lost his shit.

He definitely spoke with her. No way anyone else but Kim shooting him down gets that kind of reaction (not just the anger, but the immediate self-destructive spiral)

He 100% spoke to Kim.

Spoiler: show
If anyone wants to look up what was said by Saul, there’s a German dub that was clear enough to be translated what he was mostly saying.

That's wild. If they don't reveal it in these last episodes I'd look it up just to know.

I agree. It was Kim, but then I was thinking:

What if it wasnt?!

Huh?

Maybe I’m coloring from my own experience, but on a spectrum between love and hate, the more you care, the more it hurts when they don’t accept you anymore

I read something from the writers that at least part of that conversation will be shown at some point.

tragabigzanda wrote:I looked it up too. Seemed like a poor translation. Any of the industry pros know how these dubbings work? Are they based on the shooting script or an algorithm or what?
Well they likely have the script with intended tone. Put that through a translator into German and then give it to another translator back into English and that’s what we have.

I think we’re going to get a cold open of the other side of that phone call

I agree. I'd love to see Chuck again. Doubt it will happen

Saw this clip a little while ago and it made me a little emotional

Nah we're cool. I just DM'd her about it.

It's funny and freaky when that happens. Burt once posted a tweet by someone I know IRL too.

A sports reporter I went to high school with has quoted Green Habit on twitter before. RM mixing with real life is wild
