I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

My Neighbor Totoro is showing at my local theater this weekend. I'm going to go with my nephews. I'm really looking forward to it, I love that movie.

For instance tonight I started Everything Everywhere All At Once, which is a significantly better movie in terms of concept and production and just as bad of an experience.

Going to watch the final hour tomorrow just to see how it ends but so far this feels like a comic book movie for people with MFA degrees.

I finally saw Midsommar tonight, I've wanted to see it since it came out but didn't get around to it until now.

Man, I loved it!

What a great movie.

Maybe someday I'll understand what people see in that movie beyond some nice vistas and an admittedly great performance by Florence Pugh. It is so limp and weak to me, so straightforward and surface-level

It's the first movie in history to accurately depict PhD students
