Let's face it: What made pro wrestling great in the 80s and 90s was that it was made by coke and steroid fueled freaks, con artists, carnival barkers and outright monsters. These Nietzschean "blonde beasts" wandered across the US, plundering small towns and big cities, taking what they wanted whether by hook or crook, occasionally even murdering or getting murdered in the process. And they were as hard on themselves as they were with their marks, swindling and abusing each other as they went. Most of the greats were dead by 50. Such is the life of the free. In this way is greatness made.

But like all things, the relentless march of civilization and "progress" comes in and castrates it. Makes it "better". Makes is safer. Scripts it. Sterilizes it. The newcomers are forced to play the game, because the old time life-lovers could never hope to compete with careerists and corporate execs.

The railroads have been built. The frontier's days are numbered.

You can't truly understand master and slave morality until you've studied the culture and industry of 1970s and 1980s professional wrestling, and its subsequent decline in the 90s. Sublimation, ressentiment, creativity vs. reactivity, the slave revolt of morality...it's all there.

The idea with good old fashioned political correctness (and its bastard offspring wokeness) is to make language so cumbersome and sterile that people will stop being able to assign some sort of personality to certain terms. Their perfect world is one filled with indistinguishable robots able to be reprogrammed by simply changing the language.

Of course, even if they were somehow successful in replacing the language in the NPC horde, actual humans would just shorten "incarcerated persons" to "incaps" or otherwise transfer the stigma to the newspeak, and a new, more bland and clumsy phrase would have to be invented. Truly a Sisyphean task they've set for themselves
