i would consider an mfa if we exclusively did marxist literary theory
I just automatically assume everyone in A&E who talks smart has an MFA
I prefer the previous iteration of this post

Yeah for sure. Have you seen the American TV program Yellowstone?
you’re a much better observer of the culture than i am.

seems like shows like Yellowstone and Billions are much purer expressions of the dominant us culture, but you have to have the stomach for them.

cc never gives me indigestion
I find Yellowstone's ostensibly toxic embrace of traditional masculinity as a solution to capitalism's degradations far easier to stomach than the winking genre-bending liberal platitudes of Everything Everywhere All At Once. Yellowstone is dumb and it assumes its viewers are dumb, but EEAAO has palpable contempt for anyone watching it.

What I love is that is not just a misperception based on misleading marketing. It's something the movie itself is aware of and we almost get to see in real time the movie decide not to go in that direction. Cage descends into this underground fighting ring and we know what's coming and then...Pig

I've seen the first two more than a few times, but the third only once. I think they are an exciting spectacle, but don't always grab me like they do others. I will watch the next two though for sure.
