Mad Men deserves the spot in the upper echelon it usually enjoys. Halt and Catch Fire is the underrated sleeper pick whose renown shall grow in time

I can't get into Deadwood. Try every few years and it hasn't clicked.

McNairy plays a clean-cut nerd instead of the grungy white trash he's often cast as, and it's lovely to watch

I watched The Sopranos for the first time this year. I would not put it in the top tier.

I agree with that ranking, and I’ve seen all four (Mad Men once, The Wire once, but the first season twice, first five seasons of Sopranos mostly on tv, then the whole show on dvd, and Deadwood at least twice).

This would be my ranking as well. Except I'm currently rewatching Mad Men and really loving it, so I'd have less spaces between 3 and 4. I'd also add The Americans at #5.

The other one has West Wing in the title and Malloy considers it an abomination. Personally, I like West Wing. Not sure what Malloy's problem is

The West Wing was ok. Recently came to a streaming service here, but don’t think I will rewatch it (saw it when it was new on tv years ago).

I probably had the most fun watching West Wing out of all these (at least the first few seasons), but that was back in 2013 and I've never revisited it. Never felt the need to. I think I got it the first time through
