I changed my mind, this thread should not be open to outside opinion.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

breaking bad strikes me as a lesser version of sopranos and mad men, but squarely within that taxonomyThe Argonaut wrote:Thank god no one is mentioning Breaking Bad

so long as all parties agree that these are the four best contemporary television dramas, i begrudge no poster their particular ranking.

but i am keen to hear what shouldd be in the subject line. my guess is after next week some might say saul. there was a time in the middle of the second season of barry that I thought it was possible it would be here, too.

Re: The Sopranos, Deadwood, The Wire, Mad Men
Better Call Saul is held back by its dependence on Breaking Bad. There are too many "tee hee remember this guy" moments in the first couple seasons, and I'm not sure the sixth season makes sense if you aren't super familiar with Breaking Bad.Malloy wrote:but i am keen to hear what shouldd be in the subject line. my guess is after next week some might say saul. there was a time in the middle of the second season of barry that I thought it was possible it would be here, too.
