we liked it, we just didn't continue it..too much stuff on tv and you just forget about things and then become too lazy to revisit them

That part of advice always annoys me. Yeah, I'm just going to give over three, four, right hours of my life because supposedly it gets good eventually. No. Be good right away or be cast aside

About three episodes is my limit. I gave Outer Range about 6 episodes before I realized it was just mystery box bullshit. Never again.

I rarely have this experience with movies. Generally I think movies are worth finishing unless you're watching totally below the radar dreck, since it's always instructive to know why you hate a big expensive cultural object that you decided to start watching. But bad TV isn't worth the time.

Ever since watching Capone (2020) I no longer oppose abandoning films mid-watch.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I watched the first 1.5 seasons of that one when my youngest was a newborn and it was fine, but I lost interest once he started sleeping more than an hour at a time.
