I think this album has some winners and some clunkers. Where O'Brien pushes himself to the foreground, things feel forced, artificial and foreign. Where I don't hear his heavy hand, there's some magical stuff.

My sense is that this album is about 50% great, 50% shite. I haven't actually counted out the songs I like and dislike, etc. But what I like, I REALLY am liking and what I hate, I REALLY am hating. This is a bit of a bipolar album to me so far.
