The "psychopath" line is more funny than angry but that's OK.

I'll never not cringe at the opening stanza.

Yeah it's a bit "50 year old trying to do grunge" but that's OK. Unlike on Backspacer, I don't think they sound unaware of the irony on this album.

Lol it reminds me of once. Which is also fairly awful lyrically but imma pretend thier the same character, and hes a heavy handed/melodramatic twat.

Im working on a first draft of lyrics.

This is so good. That abrupt ending fits the song.

I come from a genius yeah i am my fathers son
Yeah too bad he was a psychopath now i'm the next in line
?? and mother yes surely she's a work of art
mm i never got top dollar but she gave us all a start

Can i get a reprieve
This gene pool down on me
Can beggar release
Can i volunteer amputee
From the moment i fail
I call on DNA
Why such betrayal
Got me tooth and nail

Yeah hows about one conversation with nothing else left to be he-yaad
Oh if this is your long lost son and it never had dear old dad
Oh forget the insemination and for that i'm supposed to be gle-yaad( :shake: )
mm and what a pity you left us so soon to climb your mountain of regret ( :| )

Can i get a reprieve
This gene pool down on me (dogging me? it sound different to the first one)
Can beggar release
I'm a volunteer amputee
From the moment i fail
I call on DNA
Why such betrayal
I gotta set sail

heee yoooo
heee yoooo

all the bright lights shining as your trying to breathe in ______?
Cannot forget your hiding collecting wounds left unhealed
when every thought you're thinking sinks you darker than the moon sky (eh?)
far away lights rising in the whites of your eyes

Raargh
Now Father you're dead and gone and i'm finally free to be me
Thanks for all your fucked up gifts for which i got no sympathy
I'm living in a war torn place in the bounds of fifth syphmony ( can't be right, what the hell does that mean?)
Thanks for this and thanks for that i gotta let go your legacy

Can i get a reprieve
This gene pool down on me
Can beggar release
Can i volunteer amputee
From the moment i fail
I call on DNA
Why such betrayal
I gotta set sail

hee yoo
yeah yeah
Not sure how much of that it right, dunno how much of those clunkers are mine and how much are eddies  Brackets are all my entirely necesary commentary.

I still don't get the bridge. Little cheesy...but the rest of the song is so crazy i dont mind it as much. Maybe its supposed to be, I guess its a short moment of reprieve before hes back to being crazy? Bipolar maybe. Its also in third person though hmm.

Wow, unexpected-- gonna need a couple rounds with this one, but I like it-- the angular guitar textures under the verses are a nice touch. Eddie's vocalizations on this sound really "old school" to me.

I hope this isn't the kind of song that they tentatively play a handful of times on tour and then permanently shelve.

This sounds even better on second listen!

Diggin' it.

How did the listening party people not come out raving about this one? Baffling.
