Re: TV: Better Call Saul
For what it's worth, i don't have a problem with them tying it so much into Breaking Bad at the end, and I certainly don't care about those that couldn't follow along because they didn't watch Breaking Bad.
I did find it a little surprising though given how effective this show was at standing on its own from the shadow of breaking bad. The first 5.5 seasons included characters from BB obviously, but I don't think any of them would have been any less effective as characters if Breaking Bad didn't exist. They all had fully self contained arcs within BCS. It's just as satisfying to see Gus become the kingpin, and Mike doing mike things and believing they did them in perpetuity from that point.
And I agree with Jorge, they definitely planted the flag from the beginning that they had to deal with post BB Gene, and im entirely satisfied with the outcome... Jimmy ridding himself of slipping jimmy, saul and gene and gaining Kim's respect back. I also enjoyed the cameos- i think they did a tremendous job of making them (despite being a little bit fan servicey) feel like they were part of Saul's development. I think maybe if he had done something worse as Gene to make the prison sentence more related to BCS? Call it season 7, throw in two more episodes of him descending into full Saul? Maybe? I don't really know. It just was a tonal shift from BCS to essentially a BB epilogue that I wasn't expecting.
and i have no idea what a star wars burrito is.

Might be worth watching through the season opening montage of the feds clearing out Saul’s house; some foreshadowing/Easter eggs such as the Saul standee in the dumpster

I’d watch the hell out of a show with Jimmy and Mike using a time machine, righting their regrets.

I’m not a fan of smoking at all, but I’d watch a full hour of Kim doing nothing but smoking every episode.

The next logical spin off of BB would be Mike and his time as as cop. We have the tech to de-age him!

Was there a scene in the finale where Mike got super into skin care?

The idea of Jimmy making a cameo in any other series as The Hannibal Lector of Conmen makes me excited. They could even put the face mask on him to keep him from sweet talking the guards.
And a sitcom called Young Mike seems doable to me too.
