is McP sober or drunk?

Can we forward that write up on to Kat or TIm Bierman? Or to DimeJinky in hopes that it reaches EV?

The cover is lazy, uninteresting, and does nothing to compliment the music within. The music is inconsistent. Ed sounds great. The tour was awesome.

Stop it Joey. Riot Act is great. That album was a "save my life" album - maybe.

Seriously. I mean, I love Binaural. But damn, only if McP was in that studio, that would have been some tough advice to turn down.

It's a great post.

But it doesn't stop bad songs from being bad songs. Gods' Dice doesn't become a better song on a double LP. Binaural doesn't need two discs to be a great album.

What bad songs are you talking about? Gods' Dice is great.

Guys, this isn't news. I've never championed Gods' Dice. I've always disliked the song. And doing what McP suggest (though I love the sentiment of his post) doesn't change that fact. It's just one stupid assholes's opinion. But Gods' Dice, Soon Forget and probably Breakerfall don't need to be on this thing as one disc, or as two discs.

I do love the idea of expanding some of the atmospheric numbers, though. Of the Girl and Rival could definitely use a bit more room.

I don't know that i'd like rival to be longer. It might lose some of its coiled menace if it lasted longer. Plus I like how implied the ending is--that you know something terrible is going to happen with that cheerful serial killer music in the background

Gods Dice is "pj by the numbers" but for some reason it doesnt feel that way. I don't know exactly why though...

I used to think it was unnecessary but now I feel it is perfectly placed. i love the song.

Thats fine but McP is thinking bigger...and how it would make the album a truly interesting adventure and listen...rather than just a half collection of songs/half adventure....

Sure. But I don't think letting that breathe changes/ruins anything.

Sounds stupid to most of you probably, but it's lyrics like "money driven" that scratch at the very itch of my dislike for that song. I think the lyrics are just... just awful. They're half-sensical at best, and infuriating high school poetry at worst.
