We did, too. Covered in fog all week. Unfortunately I can’t recommend it. Hopefully wease had a better time.

Rio De Janeiro in June seems possible. Anyone know anything about this place aside from the two famous beaches and big Jesus statue? Worth it? Any cool day trips? If I had two weeks should I try to go to Buenos Aires as well or is that going to be cost prohibitive? This would be a family trip with a 16 and 13 year old in tow.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

O, I got a zoo, I got a menagerie, inside my ribs, under my bony head, under my red-valve heart—and I got something else: it is a man-child heart, a woman-child heart: it is a father and mother and lover: it came from God-Knows-Where: it is going to God-Knows-Where—For I am the keeper of the zoo: I say yes and no: I sing and kill and work: I am a pal of the world: I came from the wilderness.

my wife and i went there in 2009 or so..it was work related for her and it happened to be during carnival..it was too fucking hot, the beaches were crowded and the ocean was dirty and full of trash..the beer was cheap..we had private boxes for carnival one night and madonna and brittany spears were there in boxes next to our business party..they brag about their meat but it was average at best from what i had...it takes what seems forever to get into town from the airport...have fun

Go to Montreal, instead. Doug likes it there, and the meat is good

Almost probably going to New Orleans next weekend. I haven’t been since before covid. I was talking to a friend who told me he’s never been and that’s how a Halloween trip came up.
