except spotify. womp, womp...tragabigzanda wrote:Drag City just announced that their O’Rourke discography is going out to all the other major streaming servicesdad wrote:I love After the Gold Rush.washing machine wrote:I say I lean Crazy Horse, and I do totally get lost in those jams, but desert island Neil Young would be something like After the Gold Rush or Silver and Gold. There's a lot more going on with instrumentation and song structure on those solo efforts to keep me continually surprised. Bonus for ATGR for mixing in some Crazy Horse along with the pure uncut Neil powder.dad wrote:do you prefer Crazy Horse NY vs. regular old NY, or is it all the same to you?washing machine wrote:I stream him on Amazon music (sorry trag.) I just so happened to switch from Spotify shortly before he pulled his stuff. Figured I shouldn't let the good fortune of being able to stream Neil go to waste, and with all this Kurt Vile and Wilco as of late, I've gotten a hankering for some Crazy Horse to round it all out.
i lean Crazy Horse NY for the crunchy guitar riffs.
Hunchback by KV makes me think of those riffs. i hear it in Magnolia Electric Co. i hear it in some Big Thief songs.
i love it.
I was just playing along with your multiple jabs at Amazon on the board. I figured you'd avoid that streaming service.tragabigzanda wrote:?? I also use Amazon music. I’m not proud of it.
also, is Jim O'Rourke on amazon music? i'd have figured trag would be an apple music subscriber, where his music resides, for that reason alone.

The expanded version "Dume" on Archives Vol. II might be my favourite thing in his catalog.Malloy wrote:i stan the horse

There was a post on NYA somewhere about Dume being pressed on vinyl.Farmer John wrote:The expanded version "Dume" on Archives Vol. II might be my favourite thing in his catalog.Malloy wrote:i stan the horse

The last few weeks have been wild, I ordered the three most recent official bootleg release, Toast, and Eldorado. Lots of rocking out over here.

Looks like Neil has a new album recorded with Crazy Horse coming out later this year called World Record.

I keep forgetting he’s married to Darryl Hannah now and then being newly weirded out when I remember.

Neil Young needs to get back on Spotify.
He’s become that favorite colleague for me who found a new job. I remember him fondly, but without being able to see him in the office everyday, he’s becoming more of a distant memory.

Apple Music is great. It costs the same as Spotify and you can stream in lossless.
