I think people mistake Viserys being kind of a dope on the actor not being up to snuff.
Agreed, and Rhaenyra is played perfectly.

I think the inverse... people are forgiving of stale, emotionless acting because they have notions of who the characters are. I have zero connection with those two characters, while the cast behind Otto, Corlys, and Rhaenys Velaryon are nailing it. The scene on the bridge worked so well because Ifans was able to perfectly portray that powerless authority figure trying to be brave. Without that setup the beautifully rendered dragon emerging from the clouds would haven't had the same impact. All opinions though.

I do really like the crabfeeder costume.

How do we feel about episode 2 reusing the game of thrones theme song?

Crabfeeder looks like a Ramsey Bolton fan... or other way around if Ramsey read books about history... or at all.

I can't believe Viserys didn't want to marry his 12 yo niece! What a weirdo.

And yes, the song being reused is dumb and the whole intro was sickening.

They also changed the title card to "Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon" this time around, right?

It's a little surprising, since without these things, Episode 1 still did big numbers. Yet they still feel like these reminders are needed.

Something's working--apparently viewership went UP for Episode 2. That never happened for GOT between a season premiere and Episode #2 of a season.

I no longer have HBO and downloaded it off the Bay. Pristine video and audio, but when they talked in their madeup language, the subtitles were French and I was out to lunch. I’ve got to be the worst pirate you’ve ever seen.

I feared this show wouldn't be good, and have a cheap feel. But it's been really good so far. Feel like there is plenty of potential in this world, for more characters, more places (how about the Starks and Winterfell?)

Biggest fear now is that they go too small, and only focus on King's Landing (+ Dragonstone)

Thank you. I haven't read the book. Did read ASOIAF years before Game Of Thrones (the tv series).

I don't think you'll need to read Fire & Blood to truly appreciate this and while the last episode showed that we're heading to the stepstones with Daemon and the Velaryons, I will just say that current events will affect the entire realm both directly and indirectly.

King's Landing > Tatooine at this point, but yeah, adding some more locales would be nice. Going back to the zig zag steps/walkway of Dragonstone was fun.
