I really adore the back half minus LtRP.
Somehow I always imagined harmless and I hugging after I said that, then I turn and pump my fist in the air and it freeze frames for credit roll

Re: Lightning Bolt: The Official Album Thread
So....
My Father's Son - great - until the calypso bingo night bridge ... what's with the need to insert something princess-cupecakey into every song? live potential though. rest of the song might sound "hard" live... but bring your Hawaiian shirts for that one part though
Infallible - this would be a great soundtrack to a montage about a middle-class suburban girl running away from home for 1.5 hrs and learning life's "lessons" along the way, making her way through town, encountering new friends! like the postman, the hairdresser, and a puppy!
Pendulum - hmmmmmmmm that sound from Law & Order meets the drums from "Like Suicide" ... meets a demo version track from Fugazi's Instrument soundtrack... meets something adult contempo.... meets something that would be interesting to see how it pans out live. The aspects that make this song interesting on the album could go
or
live... if they "find their voice" on this live version this could prove interesting. there's so many layers of effects...
Sleeping by Myself - still just sounds like an Ed solo song, would be better as a b-side ... there's not enough stuff on the album with a different aesthetic for this to be OK to me... its not like its shitty - its just not PJ album material... this should have been an xmas single. would have been a great xmas single in fact. I don't expect them to play this live.
Yellow Moon - solid contribution. kind of has a Mirrorball feel. or maybe its just the "Moon" reference. listened to this twice ... might... like... it
Future Days - Lifetime Television for Women Presents: The Worst Pearl Jam Song Ever Made
overall:
still too much Eddie talking all the time. still not enough guitar solo / instrumentalism.
still better than backspacer
still not better than binaural and its predecessors
a lot more acoustic guitar than expected
overall: meh. it's the new pearl jam album. now let's start the tour so we can hopefully hear a good version of immortality and a lengthy version of rearviewmirror

The chorus sounds like Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful'.
