3.5 miles this morning in 36:30. Beat that, Lenny! (Just kidding, I know you can beat that if you wanted to). That 7:36 mile is  impressive

That's great dude. I'm really not sure I can beat that by much. Seriously.

3 miles in 28:09. Felt really good and I didn't even push myself that hard. I probably should have gone a little further. I will next time, though I may not be able to go until Thursday.

That’s a long run. It would probably take me more than a few days to recover.

I need to go 3.5 or more Thursday. I’ll be on work travel next week and it’s just tough to get runs in.

When I can get out there, I have to push myself for distance because I'm not in good enough shape to go for speed. So I keep my heart rate high even while intermittently walking (especially on the hills) for as long as I can stand. This last one was about an hour and twenty minutes. I look forward to being able to just run a straight 5k in 30 minutes and call it a day.

You staying at a hotel? They usually have treadmills

Hills kill me, so I’m giving you extra points for that.

Yeah…It’s just finding the opportunity. My boss always wants to go eat or do stuff in the evenings and I’m pooped by the time we get back.

My ankle started to hurt so I stopped at 2.45 and walked for a bit. Ran a little to finish it out, so did 3 miles in around 29:45. The pain is coming and going some now. Hopefully it's fine, but I didn't want to risk it out there. Also, i'm a wimp.

Ankle is fine if I lean to the outside and put pressure on it. If I do the same on the inside there is a shooting pain. Just a strain?

Oh? What is more normal? I suppose more running will lower it?

When running, you should train at 50 to 85 percent of your maximum heart rate. To calculate the maximum rate, subtract your age from 220.
you're in peak zone the entire time.. i read that's not good for you and that training at lower heart rates is the way to go

Sure will. Good pace though. That's awesome.

Guys, I'm doing something a little crazy. Friday 9 folks and myself are doing the Flaming Foilage Relay: Idaho Springs to Buena Vista. Three mountain passes, 160 miles, completed in 28 hours. I've done 2 night runs just to get used to that feeling of running late and in the dark. Done a few high elevation runs. I was running about 8 miles a week until 5 weeks ago when I was asked to join. This is the first time I've trained for anything and I really enjoyed the "focus" of it. I don't know if a relay will happen again, but I think races will be something I try to get involved with.

I don't post much at all, but Lenny you are such a positive person. Thanks for building everyone up!

I've really gotten out of the habit of running. I want to get back into it.

Argo, your HR is hella high. Shoot for under 145. No shame in slowing your pace.
