Who is a better challenger to take the title in your eyes?

Cody or somebody young who's not there yet. Because of the booking over the last 5 or 6 years nobody is on the level of Roman and Brock.
I think they need to change that. They need more top guys.

Two big dudes smacking the shit out of each other really does it for me. That was like an old AJPW match.

Definitely Vader. I've always felt like Bigelow was overrated.

You can have McIntyre win the title there and drop it back to Roman in a week or two, and move forward with Cody or The Rock match, or whatever this reign is being stretched out for. No one would care that he lost it to McIntyre for a week 6 months from now, hell its WWE, you can just not acknowledge it and say Reigns has been champ for “the better part of two years” or something like that.

This would have been preferable to killing off the UK fan base and producing a major stadium show that ends with the crowd chanting AEW.

This was just like the old UK house shows, like Rebellion or Insurrection back in the day. The titles never changed hands back then and it was never going to change at Clash at the Castle.

The fact that it was the first UK stadium show in 30 years just distracted everyone. WWE went into autopilot mode. A lot of the U.S. fans probably didn't even watch it.

Reigns is keeping the championships until after Wrestlemania. He needs that win over The Rock so then WWE can boast that he's the greatest ever and the greatest from that family. He can lose the belts after that, but they want him to have that rub first.

They were never going to waste a two-year run on Drew McIntyre who has done next to nothing all year.

This wasn’t supposed to be like Insurrection or No Mercy, but it will be now going forward if they do it again. For some reason they cannot resist burning that fan base. Happened in 97 too with Bulldog and Shawn. I just don’t think dropping the belt to McIntyre and then having him drop it back to Reigns on Smackdown next week would have hurt Roman’s prestige at all.

Good show. Not great, but good. That tag match really stole the show and the main event was only a little behind that.

Punk is going off on the EVPs in the presser. With Tony Khan sitting right next to him. It’s bizarre and he comes off like the bigger asshole

Yeah but they don't want to be playing switcheroo with the title just because they wanted a nice pop for McIntyre. Whether we like it or not, they're playing a long game with Roman.

I always felt they were going to treat this as another glorified house show. We'll probably never get a proper show with real importance over here.
Even the annual UK tapings of Raw and Smackdown are usually placeholder episodes where nothing of note happens. Except for when Styles won the gold which is definitely a random exception.

Leaving aside all the drama bullshit, I don't understand why you would have moxley squash Punk, and then lose clean to him a week later.

Because first time back from foot injury for some reason. I hope this is a moment where Tony realizes he needs to be a boss and only tolerate so much from a guy just cuz he’s a big draw
