he stopped by to say he quite likes the songs he hasn't heard yet.

And KD is pretty much always worth listening to, even when he's wrong

I was kidding. KD is always a good read.

But he's always wrong.

You guys seriously think this is a "strong" album with "strong" songs? I've never heard a bigger pile of MEH in my life.

This album is clearly going to be a slow burn for me. I'm not super stoked today, but I think it will eventually work it's way up my rankings.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

You don't think the opening track is passable, at least?

It's got a spattering of good songs, mostly near the end. I wouldn't call it a strong album.

Yellow Moon is killer, it passed the test in my car, too. Just wish the guitar solos had been a bit longer, but yeah definitely one of the strongest songs on what I'm feeling is a pretty solid (and scattered!) album so far...

I'm not tracking the comparison to Bleeding Muddy Water at all, but it definitely has a huge REM vibe for sure.

Well, yes, I do think it's a strong effort for a band 23 years into their career.

yup. I had really come to like the first 6 songs we heard, and except for future days this was a very strong (probably stronger) addition to what we already had.
