1- They are still a great band to see live in person. I have long said that judging a show by the bootleg is always unfair because listening to how they hit each note like a music teacher doesn’t get to the essence everything that mixes together to make a live show special - it’s like saying “you don’t like how that tastes, the milligrams of salt required for the human brain to enjoy that is clearly below acceptable levels.”

2- definitely Hoka Ones. I am pretty sure I own the same pair.

Oh for sure. I was wearing a pair of Nike Monarchs when I took that pic, so I get it.

Seeing them in Camden with my oldest son this Wednesday… truly hoping they bring it.

It’ll be his first show (14 yrs old).
I would say that bad reviews are coming from people that are not seeing the band live this tour
i would also add that once you're in the venue and seeing them, it's a thrill to be there.

everyone wants to have something to bitch about, but few are willing to admit they had a great time hearing the hits or whatever for two hours.

I definitely didn't feel the magic at all last time I saw the band (2014) - it was just a drag - but hope springs eternal and I'll go see them again (if circumstances permit).

I saw the Ottawa show last week. I can confirm that when you're there, none of the other stuff matters. It was fantastic.

In the grand scheme of things, it's still a pretty great get. I went with two friends who'd never seen them live and are extremely casual fans at best. By the time is was done, they were trying to talk me into going to the Hamilton show.

Not sure what you’re getting at here, but I really would like to see the band again.

They seem to be sounding pretty good and (minor gripes notwithstanding) I’ve liked this tour’s setlists, especially the recent Canadian shows.

Watching that video, I still feel like the energy is so special. There's something extra there. From both the crowd and the band. This was definitely one of the best shows Ive seen. I feel like anybody there would say the same, even with a hit-heavy setlist.

If they never come back to MSG this show would be nothing to be ashamed of to close it out.

Yes. I mean, this was up there for me amongst their best MSG shows. 5/21/10 and 9/11/98 might still be my two favorites but this one was every bit the show as those.

Ditto this...Ottawa was great, and this is coming from a guy that wasn't even all that excited to go leading up to the show (at least compared to every other time i'd seen the band). They're older, we're all older, but they absolutely still deliver a great show. Spending too much time on these forums can sure skew your perspective.

I thought they were Skechers from a distance. Good for him either way. Who the fuck does he need to impress?
