That was a very enjoyable run. Kept the heart rate around 145-155 for most of it which gave me plenty of room to push at the end. 3 easy miles with negative splits all the way down.

3 miles in 28:00. Got the last mile under 9:00 at least. Heart rate of 171. I suck, I know.

I was doing so much better in the spring. This summer has set me back quite a bit.

I think this heart rate thing is a scam. I'm just impressed by the speed

I dunno, I know my breathing gets difficult but feel like part of that is tied to the heart rate. My resting rate is pretty good though and has definitely lessened the last few years as i've been exercising. Looking back at old data, my heart rate has dropped slightly as my pace has increased. Just seems like it should have more though.

What do you consider speedy?

I shall run in your honor. It took me five months instead of the three months you originally proposed, but I completed a 5k in under 30 minutes today. 28:25, a new personal record. It took an average heart rate of 170 to get there, but I think I'll survive. I would like to thank Reid and Lenny. You are my inspiration

Have you said you were previously a runner, to some degree?

That was 2017. It petered off significantly around that time. But I was fully out of shape last spring.

Did you start in 2017?

Seriously you should keep going. I don't even know how long it took me to break 30:00. I know I did my first race in like 33:20, but it was almost 3.5 miles.

No, I started in 2015. But it really only was 2 miles in 20 minutes or so, a couple times a week.
