Re: Friction that changed your life.
I have been attacked a few times, but sadly that is sometimes a part of being a teenager. Apart from those times, I have avoided violence, and deescalated a few situations.
Twice in junior high I was jumped, both times I wrestled with them, and they did not get me on the ground. Not saying I’m some machine, but that’s just a fact. They punched a little, but nothing severe. The first one ended because a large crowd gathered. The second, which was another guy, about a year later, ended as we tore down half a room of desks, and he lost a bracelet on the floor. Seemed to be important to him, because he took it and left the room.
About four years later I was attacked on the street, by two guys I had never met, one pulled my hand, as the other punched my face. I tore myself free, and left. Pressed charges the next day. The police interview was surreal, a thousand questions. Got a letter six months later that one guy was in jail, and the other was let go. I did not have to testify to anything, as they had also attacked other people.
