I hope you feel better. I don't really know you very well, but you seem like an awesome person and you're very well liked around here (by the people that matter)

Do we actually have "people that matter"?? News to me.
Hope you are going OK there Ms Harmless. Thoughts to you all the way from Perth Western Australia. Keep at it.
Yeah unfortunately a lot of people out there with exclusionary world view.
We have construction work going on at the school across the road, really big project and there has been a fair amount of compaction site works the past few weeks. I've been venting a little via e-mail to the school representative, partly to get some frustration out, partly to ensure I'm up-to-date on the expected timeframe for works etc.
My last e-mail was sent at 8am 2 days ago when the compaction works seemed constant and was driving me slightly insane. I straight up threatened to put my son's 1000W speaker on the verandah outside and blast Celine Dion at the construction crew from 7am to 4pm just to get some tiny degree of payback.
Had to laugh as Dave, the fellow from the school I've been e-mailing with, dropped past my house just now with 2 plates of freshly baked cookies and cakes and a peace-offering 6 pack of Peroni Nastro Azzuro beers! Who says the squeaky wheel doesn't get the grease!

"people who matter" are people who are safe for me to interact with

I went into a Barnes & Noble tonight. I don’t think I’ve been inside a brick and mortar bookstore for like fifteen years; it was like a time capsule: periodicals, CDs, fold up state/city maps. Totally weird to be there in this digital age.

Jesus. 15 years? That's a little weird to me. Bookstores are cool
