It's more of a Bogotá thing, because it's up in the mountains and it's chilly there, especially in the morning. I come from the coast of Colombia where it's very hot and muggy and therefore less common

How does Chili's play into this? I don't make fun of them; I've never been there. (Or to Applebees, Olive Garden, or Red Lobster)

What is the equivalent of a ‘business hotel” in SA? Do they even exist? Just don’t want to compare apples to oranges.

Had some really good hotel breakfasts lately. Last week I stayed at the Hilton Corferias in Bogota and their breakfast spread was like a continental breakfast type of thing, which is usually bland and forgettable but theirs was like a SUPER-CHARGED continental breakfast. A huge assortment of exotic fruit from the region that my American guests had never seen before, and a bunch of delicious pastries. My pal Ben raved about this breakfast for days, and continues to do so today.

I am currently staying at the Casa Dann Carlton and their breakfast is top notch. Another large assortment of fruit (though not as big as the Hilton Corferias) and a solid selection of hot choices including fried kibbeh, sausages, beef empanadas, and some very cheesy and delicious arepas. They also had an omelette station where you can ask for whatever toppings you want. I was overwhelmed by the choices so I just asked the lady to make me the type of omelette she'd like to have. She asked "you like spicy?" and I knew it would be fire.

https://flavorsofbogota.com/lulo-colomb ... 20Colombia.
What is lulo?
It looks like…an orange.

But tastes like…a super tart citrusy mistake.

The fruit is orange-colored on the outside…but the juice you make from it is green.

It’s just more magical food realism from Colombia.
lol.
