It's not a competition. We're all in this together. And if it was a competition, you'd be winning

Re: The Running Thread
Went to the greenway and did 2 miles, read for 30 minutes, then did another 2 miles. Far cry from what I was doing in the spring. I've probably peaked.
I'm going to try something similar tomorrow, but not sure I can do 2 miles each set.

Re: The Running Thread
Took a week off because I was out of town. But got back at it today. 4.15 miles on the treadmill at a 9:30 pace. Felt pretty good, body wise. But the gym was fucking hot as shit. There was like no air moving at all. I felt like a steamed dumpling. Would have liked to get 2 more miles in but I cut it short. Planning to get outside tomorrow (the rain seems to have passed) for another 3-5.

Re: The Running Thread
I was too when I first started running due to the heart rate zone stuff I was reading online. I told my doc and had some tests run, but nothing abnormal came back. I don't think I'll ever be able to decrease it much. It gets pretty high even when I run slowly.Malloy wrote:i'm getting fast again but you all have me worried my heart will explode

Re: The Running Thread
Former RM legend Alex challenged me to run 3 miles without walking. I went to a new area and wouldn’t be shocked if my watch distance was a little generous, but it was 3 miles in 29:00. It felt slower.

Re: The Running Thread
I ran 5 miles in 58 minutes on Tuesday. I was killer sick on Wednesday and have been very tired since. I don't think I could get to 6 miles in an hour by the time winter comes, so I think I'm going to focus on incorporating some sprints or fast runs. HIIT

I've never done more than 5 miles at a time. One of my previous life goals was a 10k in an hour. Maybe I can get back to going more than 3 to 3.5 miles here soon.
