These dogs look pissed. Also, I feel the black/yellow lab symbolizes a unity of all races together against BOB nicely. Its one thing all walks of life should agree on. I want to go Jerry Lee Lewis on the piano he used for FD so bad (burn it, not have sex with it).

My altered version:

1. Getaway
2. MYM
3. My Father's Son
4. Lightning Bolt
5. Infallible
6. Let The Records Play
7. Swallowed Whole
8. Pendulum
9. Yellow Moon

Flow is good, gets rid of the ultimate cheese, the medium cheese is diluted, album contrasts well and finishes strong.
Pity about the polished as fuck production.

1) Sirens moved to after Swallowed Whole
2) Remove SBM
3) Chop off the piano from FD, fade in/out, etc...

Now this is an album

If only i could fix the chorus in LTRP. And maybe put a little fuzz on the chorus in Infallible.
I could get behind this.
FD is an great tune abortion, with very nice production once the piano bookends are gone. And I mean completely gone. It totally changes the complexion of the song.

LB after MFS works much, much better. Sirens should be later deleted entirely, it's just awkward after that abrupt stop to MFS, it takes away from Sirens the entire album.

SBM is just way out of place here. All the way out. Gone. It's an xmas single, pure and simple. I get trying to put it together, its a nice tune and i like much much better here than as a uke song only. But, c'mon, on this album? What?

Really Good:

Getaway
Sirens

Goodish:

Yellow Moon

Not terrible but pretty unremarkable:

Mind Your Manners
My Father's Son
Lightning Bolt
Infallible
Pendulum
Swallowed Whole

God Awful:

Let the Records Play
Sleeping Myself
Future Days

What's sad is how many are in the not terrible/unremarkable category. A little more effort from the band and we might have a decent album here.

Production stinks to high heaven.

Infallible is top notch.

Pendulum and Records get a pass. Getaway maybe growing a little bit.

Rest is pure shite.

I really don't want to listen to it again to refresh my memory, but there are references all over the place. Part of the first song is the chorus of World Wide Suicide. One song is a ripoff of Tremor Christ. Another sounded just like Low Light. There are little references all over the place. There are a few other places where I recognized chord sequences from other bands' songs as well. Someone noted the lead guitar part from that Shania Twain song in one song which I noticed immediately and it put me right off.

And as I said, that's not really the point. They could still reference past songs and do a good job of it. That doesn't happen here.
Maybe that's just part of their inherent sound though.

It certainly does.

I sat there thinking "this doesnt fit on this album". Then I realised it doesn't fit anywhere.

I can't believe how polarised people are about this song. I gave it a chance and thought it might be ok, then when I heard it today it just ruined my day. So shit.

This is fucked up, I can only vote for 1 song in the poll. I'm madly in love with 5 of these songs. Yet I'd totally cheat on them with 4 of the others.

Getaway
My Father's Son
Sirens
Lightning Bolt
Yellow Moon
