I am on my third listen. I think the album is great so far. By far better than their past two albums. It seems Eddie has finally embraced his ability to have great hooks even in the more odd songs on the album. I mean the band members are in the 50 year old range now. I am loving it.

I wonder if 10 Club has secretly sent employees onto the forums to talk the album up.

No way man. It's totally a return to form. Best album since Vitalogy. Grunge survivors and all that good stuff. FROM THE ASHES OF MOTHER LOVE BONE.

So I played Future Days for my fiancé - and it looks like that song might be our first dance song, and I'm actually cool with that!

On that note I'm out for the next couple of weeks - enjoy the release. Hopefully there's something extra for those of us who have pre-ordered.

I'm not sure I hear the rewrites thing. Which LB songs sound like which other songs from the catalogue exactly?

I really don't want to listen to it again to refresh my memory, but there are references all over the place. Part of the first song is the chorus of World Wide Suicide. One song is a ripoff of Tremor Christ. Another sounded just like Low Light. There are little references all over the place. There are a few other places where I recognized chord sequences from other bands' songs as well. Someone noted the lead guitar part from that Shania Twain song in one song which I noticed immediately and it put me right off.

And as I said, that's not really the point. They could still reference past songs and do a good job of it. That doesn't happen here.

Getaway is one of the few songs I actually enjoy but yeah the "Found my place/It's alright" part is almost identical to "The whole world/World over/Worldwide Suicide"

I'm a new member so if I'm retreading that line, I didn't mean to. I'm just a bit frustrated that some people seem to not want to give the material a chance and it seems to me that shitting all over Future Days and Sirens is getting tired too. They may or may not be the greatest songs in the PJ catalog but they don't deserve endless bashing. I mean, for Christ's sake, R.E.M. made an entire record that not even the entire band likes (around the sun) and if you really remember them because of that record, then you're ignoring a hell of a lot of good music. I feel the same way about the bitching over those tunes in particular.

Some people want the angst of Versus and ten. But this band is now fifty, they are not going to relate to your 13 to 18 year old self. They are adults now, and drop the fucking leashh is very far behind them. So if you want a teenage point of view from 50 year olds who dickS are struggling to work, maybe look elsewhere.

That's clearly not what he was referring to. The quality of the stream is clearly good enough to judge the production. The quality of the recording is clearly very good, but the PRODUCTION is bad. The style of every song is done in a very cheesy way, or not style appropriate.
