I love the guy ringing the bell in the tower.
We can fly ships at light speed all over the galaxy, but we haven't figured out how to automate the bell tower.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

No kidding. Next thing you know they'll have tiny bears with no technology whatsoever taking down whole Imperial battalions!

It's a Star Wars staple. Like a giant tower full off 10"X10" hard drives to store all your Imperial secrets.

I like in Andor that they give you the backstory for the "bad guys' side of the story. Its not just good guy vs bad guys. You really feel the pain when they got away as oppose to just being happy for Andor.
I think i saw a couple of Jawas. But outside of that this could be any sci-fi story. Its not uniquely star wars YET.

The Star Wars of it all is just backdrop with the odd details. Which is great. We saw a Gonk droid some blasters and drop ships. That’s really all.
I’d say we’re diving into it properly next eeek with the senate and ISB of it all. Then it’ll feel more Star Wars maybe

I liked him. And the idea
It reminded me of dwarves in middle earth more than anything in Star Wars.

They’re really short episodes. Only three up. Catch up tonight before the new one tomorrw. It’s slow enough until ep three. But great stuff once you have those pieces in place

Three is asking too much. I'll try to get through one, maybe two tonight!dimejinky99 wrote:They’re really short episodes. Only three up. Catch up tonight before the new one tomorrw. Re: Star Wars: Andor (Disney+)
Just be prepared for it to feel a bit disjointed if you don't do all three. They're written as a movie and the episode breaks are weird. They don't really make sense in terms of normal TV watching. Ep 1 and 2 both just sort of end. Because, again, it should be a single 1.5 hour episode.Monkey_Driven wrote:Three is asking too much. That was pretty cool. Considering there was not a lot of action in the episode.
The tension is building already.

Really liked this episode. Tension mounting and really stylised almost?

Ditto. Just caught up. The spaceships still feel light and fake, but oh goodness, we actually have dialog and character development in a SW series. So good.Ensign9 wrote:Love it.
Direction, cinematography, effects (mostly), script, music, sets, acting (a great supporting cast, most notably). All great. Professional filmmaking.

Re: Star Wars: Andor (Disney+)
Wonderful show. Follows the tradition of New Hope/Empire/Rogue One of taking Star Wars seriously. The Empire is actually competent and scary. There are real honest to goodness stakes and tension. So refreshing. Between this and House of the Dragon it's a fine time to be a genre fan.
