yes have read some of the analyses - 70s originals seem impossible to find, not sure i would want to spend $700+

Yeah, the big box reissues can look (at least superficially) very similar, which IIRC has resulted in inflated prices from less informed (or unscrupulous) sellers.

In any case, sounds like you're on top of things - good luck with the hunt.

It seems like such a trite thing to say but watching this makes me really wish Kurt found a way to navigate the following few years more successfully.

He seems so relaxed, engaged and unburdened by it all here, in contrast to his interviews even 18 months later, post-Nevermind.
