Really? My dad decided to have a heart attack last week so he ruined our meeting. Had to leave town.

Austin is hip, i have heard

hip people are there

it is Texas, but a hip part of Texas

they have those

you wouldn't think it

cause it's Texas

and Texas is all like 'yeeehaw'

but no

there is a place you can dress like a fairy and humble-brag and drink expensive cocktails IN TEXAS and it's perfectly normal to do those things

in fact if you don't

you are a fish out of water

and that place is Austin

dad wrote:today is my oldest son's 15th birthday. i went to a follow-up appointment with the retina specialist, and as per the usual visit, had to get my eyes dilated. came home, did a little work, then drove to chick-fil-a to bring the birthday boy some lunch. most of the rest of the day has been spent getting emails from the middle school where the twins go because one of them is having a really hard time, behaviorally. so much so that i'm losing my goddamn mind trying to get him help.

the day is still young.
Happy Bday to your son. 15 is only a blink away from 21, I tell ya.

Re: your younger twin's issues - hang in there dad. My daughter had major dramas all through secondary school, some bullying, lots of social exclusion, leading to anxiety and all the other BS. It was tough and almost drove me literally to tears on numerous occasions. I know the issues aren't exactly the same, but the point being that trying to help your kids through their dramas and problems as they grow up is fucking hard. I feel for you and am here to say that it doesn't last forever. Some kids just aren't made to thrive in the school environment. My daughter is now 19 and loving life out in the full time working world. She is a totally different, vibrant and happy person out of the shithole (for her) school environment. Stay the course - it gets better at some point. In my daughter's case it was literally the day she graduated.

Is she playing catcher or are you just throwing curves up into the air?
