I’d rather have a great movie that lives and breathes its lineage, than one that does the opposite.

Why would an original story have to be the opposite?

I wouldn’t have to be, but that’s what happened.

What percentage of Star Wars fan were you before TFA?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I dint think I’ve ever been as excited for a film or anything, in my whole life.
Star Wars was coming back. The marketing and trailers and long lead in to it was just magic.
Then getting to blah my way in to the press screening the day before it opened and sitting in a big huge theatre about ten rows from the front and only around 10 or 12 actual journalists there all sitting at the back. I had the whole screen to myself as far as I was concerned :)
And just wanting to cheer and let all that 2 year long excitement out and cheer at the fanfare and when the falcon appeared and then Han and chewie, and not being able to cheer incaee they copped on I really wasn’t meant to be there. A memory I’ll always keep but I loved loved loved the film immediately. I didn’t and still don’t care it retread a new hope in so many ways.
It’s a heartfelt exciting beautifully made perfectly cast Star Wars film. And it’s funny as fuck too :)

*went to two showings on opening day in the same theatre but packed, sold out and got to scream my lungs out with all of them. Magic days magic film :)
