Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Amsterdam was as bad as I was expecting it to be. Just irredeemably poor. A lazy and foolish story, poorly told. I don't usually understand what people mean when they say "good editing". If I don't notice the editing, it's good editing. If I notice the editing and it's beautiful or affecting, that's just good cinema. This was bad editing. I was often confused about the physical space the characters were in and where they were in that space. How did you just get here from there? And what just happened? Why did the movie just break out into song at this moment, that doesn't fit. Just a bad movie all around. What a pity

I knew the guy was a terrible director with shit for brains, but I wasn't aware that David O Russell was also a creep. I just read the Wikipedia. Can we cancel this guy? We will be losing nothing if he fucks off and goes away. Also how was he able to get all these stars to work with him on this movie? What do they see in him? I honestly do not get it
