When professional athletes and transphobes get upset that we won something, you want to talk about feelings. But when we talk, offer up evidence (the same amount, and even more) and justify our case, we are "snowflakes" having a "woke" tantrum.
Amazingly well put. Thank you for your continued work in a forum full of people who mostly are trying their best to not understand you, even though you've been so open and informative. Just want you to know not all of us are closed minded here.
So counterproductive… I am personally a shy, humble guy and don’t care about much. I also have a genuinely positive outlook on life in general that follows that “the arc of history bends toward justice” outlook. How we get there is what I’m wondering about. I’ve been called closed minded among other things for asking questions (hmmmm). How are you going to persuade the sizeable numbers of people who simply don’t or won’t get it without foreclosing any chance at a discussion by immediately insulting them?

I think this feeling is widespread no matter what anyone thinks on this.

I’ve engaged Ms H on this before. There was that long thread with tree_ and I asked many questions, and listened. I always do. I don’t have a solid opinion here except that I want it to work out. I’ve been respectful but been called closed minded and it was implied I’m a transphobe. I am simply suggesting that stuff like that preaches to a choir and helps nothing. I understand fully that the Lia Thomas type incidents are rare. Most people don’t know a trans person. But it’s America 2022 and this is an issue to enough people, like it or not.

I'm sorry but you quite simply do not have to take anyone's opinion on collegiate sports seriously.

don't assume that people aren't listening to me just because you're not, Rob; kind of like assuming nobody likes oysters just because you don't like oysters

"the arc of history bends towards justice"

Martin Luther King was murdered because people didn't like him or his ideas, bro

Letter from a Birmingham Jail (ext)
By Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., 16 April 1963

"First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."

haha you're giving me a Wiki about him? I've read it, it's good because it takes away a shit ton of context and uses the term "nonviolent"

you're the guy he's talking about in the quote I responded with to your quote (and Wikipedia, which can be edited by anyone, is not the trump card you for some reason think it is)

I've been 100% non-violent in this thread, and you've taken words you have a distaste towards and assumed they must mean you were harmed

you're OK though, really, aren't you Rob? there's a lot we have to tear down before we can rebuild, because you can't polish a turd; you can't build justice on inherently corrupt foundations

so I'm building plenty of things with plenty of people, I have lots of ideas about what and how to build; but you're not ready for any of them, so I'm telling you about iconoclasm

and some people aren't into that, and that's whatever, but you, Rob? I promise you will be fine
