Yeah, Saudi Arabia, bastion of honest and ethics.
And look, I'm not saying the Biden Administration didn't try to get them to delay that announcement, they probably did, but I'm going to have to have more than the word of MBS before toss out the reporting of the prestigious Intercept.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Matty Y and Noah are busy re-litigating the increased murder rate and the riots of 2020. Does someone on Journalist 2.0 have access to some concerning midterm poll numbers that the rest of us don't?

How many options could people select? Why aren't more people worried about inflation?

Four hour riot. Six if you count from the beginning of Trump's speech.BurtReynolds wrote:
I had to look it up. I just wonder why, if the riot was such a minor thing, why would someone have to lie the time down to make it seem less of a thing?
Someone should also point out that Republican-controlled state legislatures are not passing laws to reduce inflation or create jobs. They're passing laws to ban trans kids and micro-manage school libraries.

that's it? That's your argument? That it was 4-6 hours instead of 3? Does any of this change the results of the poll?B wrote:Four hour riot. Six if you count from the beginning of Trump's speech.BurtReynolds wrote:

I could add that the Democrats put forth a giant bill that was designed to fix inflation and joblessness, and 100% of Republicans voted against it.BurtReynolds wrote:that's it? That's your argument? I don't really know how to resolve mass hysteria, but there are people in the Democratic party that have been doing this forever, ... they should be better at convincing people not to vote for liars who are running to fuck them over.

Re: 2022 Midterm Elections
Democrats do suck at messaging, that's true. But economy/jobs/prices/inflation isn't a messaging fail, it's what people care about. Now whether people should perceive that those issues are at the top of the list of priorities of Democratic or Republican politicians I don't know. But it doesn't seem crazy to me that more people think that Jan 6/women's rights/environment/guns are higher priorities for Democratic legislators than economy/jobs/prices/inflation. Maybe that's a messaging fail, but if people are looking around at high inflation, decreasing real wages and purchasing power and believe that the party in power prioritizes other things, that's a problem for the party in power regardless of whether people are right or wrong.B wrote:Well, that's because the Democrats suck at this.BurtReynolds wrote:It appears your messaging may be failing to take hold with the masses.B wrote: Someone should also point out that Republican-controlled state legislatures are not passing laws to reduce inflation or create jobs. Also, who are the 13% that think Republican leaders care about the national debt? L-O-L.

this may be hard to believe, but the government can do more than one thing at a time.

Re: 2022 Midterm Elections
I don't disagree. But when we get into how do those concerns translate into voting, it becomes important to point out that the Republican strategy is to attack people based on social issues, and then when the Democrats defend those point, wail about how the Democrats are wasting all of their time on social issues that no one cares about.4/5 wrote:Democrats do suck at messaging, that's true. That has an impact on how people feel when the pollsters call them.
