The Harvard money faucet won't turn off for another two years at least but I'm eager to move on and get settled. Academic jobs post nearly a year in advance of the start date.

I could barely believe it when I saw on my calendar that I had nothing on it today. So I ruined it by setting up a phone call this morning.

You could have done anything, but chose “talk to someone on the phone”? Woof.

I got tired out of nowhere and fell asleep waiting for my psychiatrist to show up for my virtual appt. I think the app timed out. I heard my phone ring but went back to sleep quickly. I hate my body.

My kid’s been HM this week out of nowhere, coinciding with a bunch of stuff like furniture deliveries, DIY projects, and appointments with comm companies to prepare our building’s roof for replacement (coax cable everywhere, and these guys want to stay up there forever discussing things). Cap that off with my wife stuck on a call til 7pm tonight, and I’m toast.

Haim-Munk syndrome is a rare inherited disorder characterized by the development of dry scaly patches of skin that are abnormally red and thickened on the palms of the hands and soles of the feet (palmoplantar hyperkeratosis). Such patches may appear around the age of one to five years.

Ah that makes sense. Is it spike or laura's fault?

Wikipedia wrote:Haim–Munk syndrome is an inherited autosomal recessive trait.[6] In some instances, the parents of individuals with Haim–Munk syndrome are consanguineously related.[6] Genetic analysis suggests that Haim–Munk syndrome may be due to the genetic mutation of gene CTSC cathepsin C, which is located on the long arm of chromosome 11.[6] Furthermore, analysis demonstrates that in individuals with Haim–Munk syndrome, a haplotype surrounded the gene location and appeared to be transmitted with it as unit. This suggests that the CTSC gene was inherited from a common ancestor.[6]
So, it's both their fault. And they're cousins
