Made it 4 songs in before I just had to put it down. Sculptures of Anything Goes sounded cool, but the rest kind of felt so far like I was waiting for them to get started.

This isn’t a band effort. It’s an Alex solo album. I listened to it again this afternoon. There isn’t a single hook on the whole record. It’s just falsetto ramblings. It honestly reminds me of when Adam Sandler would do Opera Man on SNL. I’m glad some of you like it so much. I guess I just don’t get it.

JamBandism
Yes, though in fairness I whine when any band gets stuck in neutral.
Man, there are some massive earworms on this album. Not immediate but they've crept in big time. Top 4 here are all just perfection.

Overall I'd love there to have been a Catapult or Afternoon's Hat type of track around track 4 or 7 to give it all a kick along but this is a record. These songs will get more muscle live I'm sure. ATM I'd place it around 4th or 5th in their catalogue.

There’s few things that make me happier than when I can’t wait to hear what’s next on an album and feel that energy and excitement in a new release.
There’s few things that suck the life out of me more than when I am listening to an album and it feels like a chore, and I anxiously await when this thing is over. I didn’t even get that far with this one. I just turned it off.
Roxy Music was fucking awesome in the seventies...a marveleous band full of ideas. Then a decade later Bryan Ferry was releasing lame crooner ballroom albums...
