That bill didn't have anything to do with inflation. Doesn't make it a bad bill, just one with an irrelevant name that was chosen so Democrats could say, "Republicans voted against inflation relief!"

And maybe you're right but I usually assume everybody knows how to fix inflation but doesn't want to incur the political costs of doing so.

I guess as it it’s worded now we can still own slaves here? I fully expect it not to pass. Gotta keep our options open.

Constitutional Amendment 3 would remove language from the Tennessee Constitution that allows the use of slavery and involuntary servitude as criminal punishments. The ballot measure would replace the language with the statement, "Slavery and involuntary servitude are forever prohibited." The ballot measure would also state that the language does not prohibit an inmate from working when the inmate has been duly convicted of a crime.

Basically a chance to close the gaping loophole that's in the 13th Amendment and apparently your state's Constitution.

There's a healthcare union in California that puts an initiative on the ballot every year that would close private dialysis centers, force everyone to go to the ER, result in tens of thousands of deaths, and apparently they don't care how ghoulish they are. It fails every time, but it's been on there like 5 years in a row.

It's clearly far too easy to get an initiate on the CA ballot.
