I'm not sure. I always thought I'd it as an era thing more than a regional thing.Bammer wrote:I like that “lousy with” phrase. Never used it myself. I feel like I need a tour. 2016 to 2020 I was basically take it or leave it. We need a 2023 tour.Birds in Hell wrote:I've been expecting them to announce a tour down here for around Feb/March 2023 (going by previous patterns), but who knows at this point. As time goes on, that seems less likely.
It's been a long break, they haven't played here since 2014 - and that tour was festivals only, no headlining shows.
I think you're right that this year's touring experience must have been really frustrating for the band.

Re: The 2022 Gigaton Tour
Imo, the tour started out great with the shows last fall, and then I was a little disappointed with the shortness of the shows as they started out and with the cali leg. But it started making sense to me why the shoes got shorter especially when you heard comments from the band. I was happy with how it started out on the cali leg but then they all got Covid, Ed had a stomach issue again and I have to be honest they sounded like shit for most of Europe until they got to England and then Ed blew his voice out in Paris.
That’s said I loved the fall US leg, there are some absolutely great shows there. The 5 song slow starts we’re great to break out some tracks that had not been played in a while. They sounded especially tight on this leg and most of the shows are top notch. I’m just sad the tour ended when it did. They were sound like Pearl Jam again. As far as highlight tracks from Gigaton, for me whoever said, buckle up and superblood Wolfmoon were my favorites.

The shows I enjoyed the most from this year were the early ones before Matt got COVID, San Diego and Glendale in particular. I liked Frankfurt from the Euro leg too.
Though the setlists looked great, I haven't found the more recent shows to be as enjoyable. It's not just the tuning down, but that certainly didn't help. I haven't heard all of them yet, however.

Recommendations if you only wanted to buy 3 or 4 boots from the 2022 tour? I'm partial to MSG, Camden, someone was saying Werchter. Anything good from the first leg in the West Coast or a different European one? thank you.

Was there for Nashville and St. Louis. Those shows very much felt like 'the old guys have still got it'. I'm sure folks who did MSG and/or Camden felt the same. I don't know that people who saw European shows feel this way.tragabigzanda wrote:STL has a killer setlist and great energy

Yeah, the Nashville show felt like they still had something to prove having not played there in so long.mkay0 wrote:Was there for Nashville and St. Louis. Re: The 2022 Gigaton Tour
An idea for a tour game.
We all like to look over setlists. Before the tour starts guess from a list of songs that could legitimately pop up any given night how many times they will be played. Your total cumulative number is your score. You would then compare to the actual tour statistics. Alive will probably be played all nine shows so nine is a reasonable guess. Corduroy is a good bet for six but what about something like Go or Do the Evolution? Just Breathe or Ledbetter?
Whoever comes the closest wins.

Or, you could just do fantasy draft of songs. Say 15 rounds, and you can set any 10 of those songs up for that evening’s show. Whoever gets the most number of songs wins.
