Gonna fry a turkey for the first time this year - bought an electric fryer so there’s less guesswork and chance that I’ll burn my face off

Trying a sweet potato pave recipe this year. Looks a little like scalloped potato casserole. I bought some maldon salt for seasoning that I'm pretty excited about.

I mean Turkey is ok I guess? I dunno, doesn’t do much for me unless it’s in a sandwich.

We’re making au gratin potatoes and a ricotta corn dish this afternoon. Wife made a mango pie last night, and we’re picking up a pumpkin pie from the bakery around the corner (an area real estate agent sends out free pie coupons to the area every year) today. Taking it all up to my sister’s in the morning.

She made a test pie last month, it was pretty good. Homemade graham cracker crust and whipped cream this time around should make it even better.

She was also going to make a baked cheesecake from scratch, but I guess my aunt is bringing one now.
