Death's Door will be done by then. Mario+Rabbids will take much longer. It's a great "play while my wife watches TV" game. Plenty of time for Kratos and "boy".CopperTom wrote:You've got 7 days.Monkey_Driven wrote:The 1-2 punch of Death's Door and Mario+Rabbids is hitting the spot right now.

Easy to do actually, it's far too short compared to the original. Visuals were good but enjoyed it far less than the RE2 remake; overall felt like a rushed project. Hoping they rebound with the RE4 remake incoming March 2023Monkey_Driven wrote:Trying to squeeze in the Resident Evil 3 remake before Ragnarok.

RE4 is going to be incredible. One of the reasons I want to play this one first in preparation.Revelator wrote:Easy to do actually, it's far too short compared to the original. Re: What are you playing?
I'm at the end of RE7. It's so much better than 6, which was the low point of the series, IMO. I'm going to pass on the remake, but it'll be interesting on how it's received since the original release is an all-time great. I'm interested in the Calisto Protocol. It's already been banned in Japan. Japan! They allow everything. The game has to be incredibly f'd up.Monkey_Driven wrote:RE4 is going to be incredible. Re: What are you playing?
I almost always skip remakes if I've already played the original. I think the current RE4 is a (near) Mt. Rushmore of games all timer. The only remakes I've bought of a game i previously beat are Link's Awakening and Halo Anniversary. Maybe KotOR someday too.Monkey_Driven wrote:Why will you skip the remake?CopperTom wrote:I'm at the end of RE7. It's so much better than 6, which was the low point of the series, IMO. Interesting, interesting. RE4 has such an undeniable legacy that I feel like they are treating this remake with great care.CopperTom wrote:I almost always skip remakes if I've already played the original. Re: What are you playing?
These days when it comes to RE I get more excited about the remakes than I do the new games. Though RE8 was cool; I may replay it in the new TLC third person mode. I could never make it far in the old RE4 because the controls were God awful; lots of respect for it's legacy and trailblazing the 3rd person action games. Assuming they modernize the controls, the RE4 remake is a day one buy for me.Monkey_Driven wrote:Interesting, interesting. Callisto is definitely on my list, too, though I think the next few months will be consumed by Ragnarok.

I never played the original but was going to look into this, too. EA's brand attached to anything has me skeptical but this one is generating lots of reputable hype.Monkey_Driven wrote:I'm pretty fired up for the Dead Space remake too.

I just played the original a few months ago. I thought it held up well. I tracked down the sequel, but haven't played it yet. If you're a fan of the survival horror genre, it's probably a must play.Revelator wrote:I never played the original but was going to look into this, too. I beat Perfect Dark last night. That last level can go straight to hell. A boss battle where you can get 1 hit killed and then you need to replay the entire level before you fight the boss again. Grrrr.

On the original N64 cart? I remember some of those levels moving at 10 fps.CopperTom wrote:I beat Perfect Dark last night. That last level can go straight to hell. A boss battle where you can get 1 hit killed and then you need to replay the entire level before you fight the boss again. Grrrr.

Yup. Not too bad in the slowdown department. I remember worse on the N64.Monkey_Driven wrote:On the original N64 cart? My "slowdown" was caused by a semi broken analogue stick which explains why I couldn't beat an early part of Conker 64.

The analog sticks would get so crusty after while. What was wrong with yours?CopperTom wrote:Yup. Not too bad in the slowdown department.
