I did the same thing. Still, it misses something... I thin it deserved a full band treatment :/hlniv wrote:I internetted the shit out of it.piratebob wrote:how did you do that? Yeah, I'm surprised to find that I don't like it more without the keyboard. I think there were some good things done to the keyboard sound that make it excusable here, where it wasn't in Wrigley.KurtLeon wrote:I did the same thing. Still, it misses something... How would this work as a full band treatment? Big, spacey mike solo? I guess some drums would have been nice, though ,huh....KurtLeon wrote:I did the same thing. Still, it misses something... Cool interview with Ed

At some point, while making the Avocado record [2006's "Pearl Jam"], I kind of had thesongs on a bulletin board, and I started scribbling ideasand patching them together. I thought, "It would be really easy" ... I'm not going to jinx myself, but it would be easy [to make a whole piece]! That albumreally could have been a story about two brotherswho weresoldiers. It could be a fucking play. It's too bad, because that would have been the time to do it.

He's talked about s/t almost being a concept record, and even considering adding Pink Floyd like sound elements, before.

I think that would have been seen as ed taking the Townshend worship too far.
