Ozzfest in the Metaverse Tomorrow! (And Bjork)

Post by HardTI »

Hey guys! I'm working with Ozzy's NFT team putting on Ozzfest tomorrow in a metaverse called Decentraland. It's free and it's going to be fucking rad.
It's never going to be a replacement for an IRL show. The same way a music video doesn't replace a single, a metaverse experience wont ever replace a concert. But, they will continue to get bigger and better and they will get super impressive.

For Ozzfest we have Ozzy, Motorhead, Megadeth, SkidRow and Black Label Society putting on a performance.

There's 150+ bands playing this festival from tomorrow - Sunday, including the headliner.... fucking BJORK!

I hope you guys attend!

So this turned out really really well. There were thousands of people throughout the day taking part in this event, and it will probably keep ramping up all weekend. We ran a contest for a band to open at the Ozzfest show, and a band called Britof won. They blew people the fuck away. 3 piece metal band with a drummer who does lead vocals. Really impressive stuff. Just as a whole it's impressive to see the tech, and to get a glimpse of a new way to enjoy music from some of our favorite bands.

I'm REALLY looking forward to Bjork's performance on Sunday. This is a pretty big deal for the music world.

Also as if brain dead Ozzy knows what an NFT is, what a shitty marketing scheme. Are mods not banning bots or some shit.

HardTI isn't a bot. He's a proud member of the Gizz Gang, and thus unbannable.

there's no NFTs for sale. it's totally free. i get the negative feels with all the crypto shit, but people look at this the wrong way. this stuff will evolve into interactive listening parties and concert experiences. no replacement for live shows, something brand new instead.

Ok we can let this thread die now :) but I wanted to give a look at Bjork's performance. It was absolutely stunning. So now I just picture what something like this would look like in 1-2 years, and when it's with some of our favorite bands. Imagine what King Gizzard would pull off in a virtual listening party like this? I'm just in love with the idea of this all. The challenge is getting past the idea that these are concerts. It's on the creators to explain what they really are, and that is a pretty big challenge at the moment.
