BUT I still love this performance and I still miss that band
lol
would love to see dave a attempt to keep in time with a rhythm guitar plugged through a drum machine for a whole song. the guy was a hack.
1. keeping time with sixteenth-notes is a really basic drumming skill

2. when did this become about Dave A

WtOB? wrote:wow. this REALLY excites me. 2003 has been my favourite tour of this band, bootleg wise, for some time.

i hope they release more if they got em. imagine if they're sitting on a live riot act in full at chop suey.
I think six songs were recorded from the Chop Suey session, as I remember that 1 song was unreleased as per articles (and it was You Are).
I might have read it here back in the day: https://www.fivehorizons.com/tour/cc/t2002.shtml

Apart from the video upscale, Save You is also uncensored now.
I have extracted the audio from the YouTube videos, it makes a nice 6 song EP.

Here is a never seen before You Are performance on Chop Suey that they just released:

I didn't even watched it yet and I already know its fucking amazing!!
Nice underwear closeup. So Riot Act era Ed wore Calvin Klein.
I really enjoyed the release of these vids this weekend. Brings back the memories of '03 for sure. Was in Mansfield for all three shows, including the early acoustic set. :hooray:

if you think matt's work on you are is a really basic drumming skill you don't know anything.

I said Matt's fills specifically, which are constantly (but not always) basic af; if you think one nitpick of a single aspect of his drumming style that annoys me is a blanket character assassination, I don't know what to tell you

I agree that Matt's fills are "robotic" but "robotic" works for the song

well, everyone thought Dance Of Clairvoyants had a drum machine....but i feel thats a very high point for a drummer. He is great at keeping everything together.

good at keeping everything together is true, yep

"works for the song" is also true, Jorge; it's a million times less annoying here than it is in some other songs

e.g. "Alive", which is more or less the same tempo and has so much opportunity for interesting pauses, accents, backbeats, and these straight gunshot fills make it sound so bland

I know everyone here hates "Amongst The Waves" but Matt's performance on it has the kind of funk I wish he'd apply to Alive

we're still due for a vault release this year. maybe they will announce it in the december newsletter. i wouldn't be mad if these chop suey vids are a run-up to them releasing one of those Showbox shows before the Riot Act tour officially kicked off or a Vote for Change show.

still holding out hope for a No Code tour show, but I will take one of the aforementioned for sure.

Isn't this year's Vault the show from The Vic? I seem to recall giving them money for it a half year or so back.

Third year in a row.

Atlanta was 11. They're probably done, and they'll just keep cycling through those 11.
